ACEF Contacted by Texas Law Enforcement

The Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF) was contacted this month by a Texas Law Enforcement Agency due to our membership on Crimedex. Doug Davis; Director of the Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF), met with the Law Enforcement agency regarding an investigation of counterfeit one-ounce bars and rounds at a local coin shop.

Mr. Davis explained to the officers that the influx of counterfeit coins, silver bars and rounds are becoming an increasing problem within the US marketplace. In this case, the bars and rounds were drilled showing a copper base metal and all tested bad with acid. He also shared with them some tips on how to identify a suspected counterfeit while in the field.
