The Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF) was contacted this month by a Texas Law Enforcement Agency due to our membership on Crimedex. Doug Davis; Director of the Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF), met with the Law Enforcement agency regarding an investigation of counterfeit one-ounce bars and rounds at a local coin shop.
Mr. Davis explained to the officers that the influx of counterfeit coins, silver bars and rounds are becoming an increasing problem within the US marketplace. In this case, the bars and rounds were drilled showing a copper base metal and all tested bad with acid. He also shared with them some tips on how to identify a suspected counterfeit while in the field.
The Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF) and its task force are available to assist law enforcement in the investigation of counterfeit U.S. coinage and bullion at any time.
The ACEF is a 501(c) 3 non-profit and is funded entirely by donations. The ACEF Task Force of volunteers work tirelessly to educate and assist law enforcement, government agencies, and policy makers in an effort to stop the illegal counterfeiters.
